How Much Does It Cost to Repipe a House?

A whole-house repipe cannot be priced responsibly from square footage alone. Two homes of the same size may have very different fixture counts, stories, crawlspace or attic access, slab conditions, finishes, pipe routes, shutoff needs, and restoration requirements.

Instead of a broad online price range, use the factors below to make proposals comparable. A detailed scope should show what piping is replaced, what stays, which material and connection system is used, how water downtime is managed, and who repairs the openings.

Fixture count and distribution layout

Each bathroom, kitchen, laundry, hose connection, heater, treatment device, and specialty fixture adds branches, valves, and reconnections. Long distances and several stories increase material and labor.
